Nursery
and Preschool
We
welcome you and your preschooler to FBCM.
It
is our goal to help your child develop his or her full
potential by beginning their walk in a loving Christ-like
environment.
Your preschooler will learn early the feeling of trust
not only in others but most importantly in God.
The preschool leadership joins me in a sincere effort
to help your child’s time be happy, well directed,
and profitable.

Melanie Schad,
Preschool Director
Purposes
of the Preschool Ministry
The preschool ministry derives its purpose from Jesus’
words. It is our joy to welcome your child in the name
of Jesus Christ. We want the nursery to be a place where
the tiniest among us can eperience the love of Christ
through His church body. We want parents to be able
to worship without distraction, confident that their
precious child is safe in loving hands. The nursery
ministry operates during both Sunday morning and evening
services as well as Wednesday evening activities.
We consider every baby a blessing and promise from the
Lord. It is our desire to serve the needs of you and
your child as we would serve Christ. We attempt to provide
a comfortable environment so that each child will feel
happy and loved. The seeds of later trust in God are
rooted in an early positive experience at church.
The
purpose of the Preschool Ministry of FBCM is to help
each child
• Associate God, the church, and the Bible with
happy feelings.
• Know that the Bible is a special book, which
tells about God
• Religiously educate all Children in how to know
and love God
• Think of Church as my Church – a happy
place where people love me
• Begin to show love, respect, and cooperation
with others
Parents
Please take note…
Here are a few things you can do to make the church
preschool experience a smooth transition for your child
once you drop them off with us.
•
Label everything that belongs to your child –
diaper bags, bottles, clothing, jackets and coats, pacifiers.
• Check in, even if your child is there every
week. Help us keep the preschool check-in form current
if something changes by including special instructions
concerning your child, such as allergies
• Let preschool and nursery workers know if your
child is going through any new phases (biting, teething,
potty training, etc.) If potty training bring along
a change of clothes in a bag with your child’s
name on it; kids have accidents sometimes when away
from their daily routines.
• Leave special toys at home. Don’t force
caregivers to explain to other children why one toy
doesn’t have to be shared.
• Follow rules especially when it comes to sick
kids. When in doubt, stay home. Your little one will
be more comfortable at home until they heal.
• Be prompt about picking up kids following services.
Remember, nursery and preschool workers are volunteers,
so don’t take advantage of their time. If you’re
one of the last parents to pick up your child one week,
get there more quickly the next.
• Pray for the volunteers and paid staff who serve
in the church nursery and preschool areas. This can
be a thankless, tiring job. Encourage them by expressing
your appreciation for their service.
• Please do not send an older sibling to pick
up a child. We will only release children to an adult
with an I.D. furnished by the church.
